What is there in a name?

I think, I have a mild O.C.D.

And may be because of that, despite having had a 'strong' determination to start my blog (as I had already been writing, occasionally, at several places), I just couldn't go ahead. Reason? I could not come up with a satisfactory name!

Yes.
I had this strong desire to name my blog so as to reflect a 'depth of reason' but at the same time not to make it smell of desperateness. And
my O.C.D. worsened this quest, as a result of which, almost TEN years passed and I was still blog-less!

So Why Now?

Instead of the 'dream-name' clicking me, the phrase 'Ten years and still blog-less' hit me hard!
I could clearly see, how my pointless procrastination had stifled millions of my thoughts, and choked thousands of opportunities for my soul to grow and mature.

Write for yourself, not for the world - is what I now believe in. And it is when you start to give shape and structure to your scattered thoughts that you discover a little more of yourself.

And by putting off all the moments of unrest, solace, agony, peace, anguish, epiphany and sundry for the 'right moment', I squandered them for no reason.

So - 'Scented Shadows' is it?

Scented Shadows. Fancy? Desperate? Thoughtless? Shallow?
May be. But I don't care. Much.

However, yes, there IS a reason behind this choice.

It was when I was staring at a wall, thinking of changing my twitter handle, that my glance fell on the pattern produced (on that wall) by the surroundings. And I thought, how these colorful, vibrant objects, all cast a black shadow. How a shadow, despite being deprived of color, tells us a story of itself.

How a hand can become a hound, or a cat can become a lion!

How escaping from the depths and heights, all the things come together, on to a single canvas, to paint another picture, escaping from their individual identities, to become something else.

The Scent of a Shadow

Once, you begin to focus on the shadows, and unravel the story they are trying to tell, you begin to achieve a harmony with yourself.
They become a mirror to your mood.
The Scented Shadows - Chhavi Agrawal
The shadows, despite being two-dimensional, bland and mute, have a scent of their own.
The scent is sensed by the mind and felt by the heart.

And that, my friend, is the 'depth of reason' I was looking for!

What I did I learn?
A dying desire - Chhavi Agrawal

If you have a thought, don't let it fade.
Give birth to it and let it breathe.
Feed it with all that you have,
decorate it with a flowery wreathe.

Grow with it a little more, and
dive a little deeper, into the core.
If you have a thought, don't let it fade,
for it will help you discover, of what you are made.

Love.
